I wear several professional hats and traverse in a multitude of spaces.  While I translate my experience and expertise of nearly 25 years in active journalism into multiple disciplines, my legal background has fueled my critical thinking, fostered accountability and honed my communication skills.

The wide-ranging journalistic canvas of mine covering socio-economic issues, current affairs, trade and commerce, health and wellness, arts and culture, literature and religion have exceptionally positioned me to diversify my writing portfolio. The dynamic and eclectic range of locally and internationally acclaimed personalities that I was privileged to have profiled, has enabled me to make thought-provoking and enlivening human-interaction and conversations possible.

I’m humbled by the recognition my journalistic skills have received over the years. The Editors’ Guild of Sri Lanka has awarded me the Best English Feature Writer of the Year on several occasions in recognition of my ‘stylish and informative contributions on diverse subjects.’  I’m also a three-time recipient of Excellence in Health Journalism award presented by the Sri Lanka Medical Association for my ‘outstanding contribution to health journalism in Sri Lanka’. I have also been honoured with the Top 50 Professional and Career Women Award for print media.

Mentored by some of the celebrated gurus of the classical school of journalism and legal annals, and sharing their deep conviction that it is consistency, professionalism and passion which ultimately prevail, I’m driven to forge unique experiences shaped by these values in my professional undertakings.

Having been nurtured to make every story authentic, inimitable and a brand by itself, I’m committed to craft each writing of mine to be distinct. Bridging the best of conventional print and the avant-garde digital media, I lend my words to causes which need to be heard and shape stories that matter. 

As a content strategist, I work in diverse sectors and industries engaging with state, private and international organizations. My portfolio includes corporate profiling, content branding, authoring and curating publications and media advocacy.

I also work with organizations, their CEOs and employees, empowering them to enhance their communication skills through training initiatives, workshops and mentoring programs.

I’m a product of the University of Colombo where I gained my academic credentials in Journalism, English, and International Relations and Sri Lanka Law College where I obtained my professional qualification of Attorney-at-Law.

Fueled by the nuances of people and places, I’m constantly inspired to make a meaningful and innovative contribution to the world at large.
